Weemp is a web-based client for the Yeemp protocol. It enables you to send me messages without installing a Yeemp client on your own machine. On the plus side, it means you don't have to worry about any rootkits that I (or someone between me and your machine) may have inserted in Yeemp. And you don't have to worry about whether or not a Yeemp client exists for your platform yet.

On the minus side, if you haven't used an out-of-band means to verify my selfsigned certificate key, it is possible for a malicious individual to snoop on traffic.

How this works:
This Weemp installation lives on the Weemp address deekoo.net~tentacle.net. (That's user 'deekoo.net' on machine 'tentacle.net'.). Yeemp clients use a seperate public-private keypair for each contact; the reason for this is to prevent spam and spoofing. (Future clients will probably include hooks to make anonymous messaging easier, but they aren't in the current client.
To enable sane (or somewhat sane, at least) communication with more than one user at a time, Weemp uses 'sub-addresses'. If you don't create a weemp account, Weemp will use your IP address as your sub-address. If you do create an account, Weemp will (assuming you log in - Weemp doesn't use cookies or any other Ugly State-Maintaining Kludges) use your account's identificator as the sub-address.

This is an experimental copy of Weemp, that will probably be bundled with a future version of Yeemp when I use Round::Tuit.
